As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of payroll and all related tax filings, reporting, and systems integrations. You will support all aspects of the payroll process in a growing multi-state environment, working within established checks and balances to ensure payroll compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and audit biweekly payroll inputs from various internal sources to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Monitor work against deadlines and alert payroll management to any risks.
  • Validate and upload system files.
  • Review and validate correspondence from tax and government agencies.
  • Oversee and process wage garnishment with government agencies and third-party vendor.
  • Report writing and providing management information.
  • Support finance/accounting needs, including but not limited to biweekly payroll general ledger file review for accuracies and point of contact finance related questions.
  • Performing biweekly payroll reconciliations.
  • Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to existing processes.
  • Work cross functionally with other teams as needed.
  • Research, analyze, and respond to complex matters that require a comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • 4+ year payroll experience.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State & Local employment tax laws.
  • Experience with working under strict deadlines and delivering payrolls with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to self-motivate and complete tasks with minimal support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires four or more years of Payroll experience. The successful candidate has demonstrated flexibility, detailed understanding of payroll regulations and strong problem-solving skills. Experience is critical in resolving complex problems that arise in everyday work, developing and implementing policies and procedures, working to tight deadlines and enforcing performance standards. Ceridian, ADP, Workday, UKG, Oracle systems experiences are a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
